ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE, ONLY BELIEVE!

Welcome to Danny Brooks' new Texassippi Soul Man site! – Hello and welcome to my site. Please take the time to surf my videos and discography, which includes my latest release Texassippi Soul Man. I grew up listening to Hank Williams, Reverend Jumping Jim Jericho and Taj Mahal when older brother Greg turned me onto Solomon Burke, Joe Tex, and Bobby Blue Bland, and that laid the bedrock for my writing and vocal styling. CBCRadio: Ringo Starr once said, that “you’ve gotta pay your dues if you wanna sing the blues”, then Danny Brooks has enough life experience to share with a dozen fledgling performers. But more importantly, he has uncommon chops as a musician and songwriter. Anyone who cares at all about music - and I mean REAL music that comes from the soul - should make themselves aware of Brooks winning blend of blues, R&B, and Stax". -Mark Rheaume

TEXASSIPPI SOUL MAN DANNY BROOKS & LIL MISS DEBI ARE SINGING THE "GREEN CARD BLUES"!
Danny Brooks (C)
"I ain't green with envy, for what you have or what you do,
I'm happy in my own skin, and what I'm going through.
I don't ask for much, but Lord I'm calling on You,
to give me strength to handle, these low down, Green Card Blues!"

His House Records is proud to announce that Texassippi Soul Man’ Danny Brooks and Lil Miss Debi are now ‘Permanent Residents’ of Llano Texas, receiving their Green Cards after a 20 month process! It has been quite a ride these past five months!  They have been unable to work and without drivers licenses! It is through the kindness of the Llano Cowboy Church, and other friends that they have managed to make ends meet to which they are very grateful! Since they arrived in Llano five years ago they have declared themselves to be proud new Texanadians and now it is official!  Next step citizenship!

During this ordeal, there were many times when doubt crept in and looking back now, they are able to see how it galvanized their spirit and marriage.  While waiting out the process they completed  two books ‘Miracles For Breakfast / The Journey Continues’ which received a glowing endorsement from renowned author/motivational speaker Denis Waitley/Seeds of Greatness  and ‘Miracles For Breakfast / The Lonely Battle’ that will be part of a 7 book ‘Miracles For Breakfast’ Series. The Journey Continues while having some similarities to the the first book ‘Miracles For Breakfast / How Faith Helped Me Kick My Addictions’ published by John Wiley & Sons in 2008, is a different book in that it leans more to the motivational/inspirational aspect and even has a ‘political’ ending, speaking on the beginnings of the USA and its relationship to the country of Israel. The Lonely Battle focuses on the time frame of coming to realize you have an addiction, getting help and the crucial two year period upon leaving rehab. It is a powerful read and will be a help to any family or corporation dealing with loved ones/employees with addictions.  Both books are full of practical motivational and inspirational incentives that will assist the reader, to discover the God given potential for joy, peace and success in us all.

The winter/spring tour is being booked and the Brooks’ will be offering a new service in the form of a ‘Music Motivational & Creative Stimulation’ presentation that will underscore the power in us all to BELIEVE in who we are and what we are capable of doing. The Journey Continues opens with this: "Adversity is the bridge to greatness. We all go through difficult and trying times and it is seldom 'convenient.' Nevertheless at a later time we see how it fashioned certain ideas and added some muscle to our character. God works in amazing ways and uses our adversity that we may get a better understanding in all things. He is well acquainted with grief and adversity. Adversity is the bridge to greatness! "

Danny and Debi Brooks would like to thank Tom Clarke for connecting us with our congressional office and ensuring that we were not lost in the shuffle! So thankful to Nancy at Congressman Mike Conaway's office for all her efforts! Thankful for Ethel Schneider and Billy-Bob Schneider for being our chauffeurs during the wait! We are also thankful for the understanding of all the venues and promoters where gigs were booked and had to be cancelled, especially after they did promotions and who are now willing to bring Texassippi Soul Man Danny Brooks and Lil Miss Debi back!

Danny Brooks, Muscle Shoals, No Easy Way Out’ CD / Rockin' Camel Music 2007

I will never forget walking into Johnny Sandlin’s (Capricorn Records Producer) Duck Tape Studios in Decatur Alabama that cool spring morning in 2007 and meeting music legends ‘David Hood’, ‘Spooner Oldham’, (see below) and the rest of the Muscle Shoals players.  They were down home, gracious and gave of themselves, and I will never forget David Hood’s telling me in his southern drawl after listening to the first song we were about to record ‘Ain’t That The Truth’; “Y’all could’ve been born down here Danny....”

Produced by Johnny Sandlin, recorded and mixed by Johnny Sandlin and Jeremy Stephens. additional engineering, by Jeff Coppage. Recorded and mixed at Duck Tape Music Studio, Decatur Alabama. Swampland Review - Danny Brooks "Southern by the Grace of God"

DANNY BROOKS - MIRACLES FOR BREAKFAST:  Originally published by John Wiley & Sons, the book was purchased April 2013 by Harper Collins Canada and it is available as an e-book on all the media-selling platforms.

The book is equal parts biographical, inspirational. motivational with a look at the music industry and overcoming addictions, as well as experiencing the miraculous. It is a heartwarming story that mixes humor to offset heavy subject matter and shows that the underdog can overcome and become a winner from the most difficult of circumstances. It is Brooks' belief that no matter who you are, what you've done, how far down you've sunk and how bad you may feel about the present, there is absolutely nothing that God and you can't work out together and get back on a winning, happy and peaceful track. You may purchase your personally autographed copy direct from us, sending a cheque for 25.00/Danny Brooks, which includes tax/shipping (address on Contact Page) or from various online book outlets such as Amazon, Kobo, Sony Make Believe, Google etc.

Danny Brooks is currently writing ‘Miracles For Breakfast / The Journey Continues’ slated for a release 2016. This book will be the first of a series of 7 books Danny and Debi have planned for the Miracles for Breakfast series...

Texassippi Soul Man Danny Brooks and Lil Miss Debi went into the KPFT 90.1FM radio station the morning after having played at The Redneck Country Club in Stafford Texas. In a somewhat "tired" state of mind, the live interview with Blues Hound, James Nagel and Baby Girl, Colleen Nagel managed to come off very well with some pretty hilarious moments throughout.
