Brooks Meets Powerful Influence,
5 Blind Boys of Alabama |
Brooks was invited to a taping of
the 5 Blind Boys of Alabama at 100 Huntley Street and was
serendipitously asked to do a photo with the Blind Boys. Long
time admirer, Brooks has mentioned them
in songs in previous cd's and upcoming 'No Easy Way Out'
CD's lead off single 'Aint That The Truth'.
A recent concert that had Susan Tedeschi open for the Blind Boys
inspired two songs on the upcoming
CD, produced by legendary Capricorn Records, Johnny
Sandlin for
Rockin'
Camel Records |

'Where Sinners & Saints Collide', co-written with
Dean
McTaggart and 'Ain't That The Truth' where
Brooks sings "Then I heard Clarence Fountain, the 5 Blind
Boys of Alabama, mixing it up with Susan Tedeschi back in
Toronto, I ain't never heard nobody sing like that before, it
don't get more real than that Brother ain't that the truth".
On
it's a Southern Thing, Brooks sings "I heard the 5 Blind Boys of
Alabama, come on the radio, man those boys can see". Thank you
George/Sr Producer at Huntley St. and Ron/
Host of Huntley and the Five Blind Boys of Alabama for 'making
my day!" |
