DANNY BROOKS: MIRACLES FOR BREAKFAST -
AVAILABLE! -
John Wiley&Sons
The book is equal parts biographical, inspirational.
motivational with a look at the music industry and overcoming
addictions. It is a heartwarming story that mixes humor to
offset heavy subject matter and shows that the underdog can
overcome and become a winner from the most difficult of
circumstances. It is Brooks' belief that no matter who you are,
what you've done, how far down you've sunk and how bad you may
feel about the present, there is absolutely nothing that God and
you can't work out together and get back on a winning, happy and
peaceful track.

Danny Brooks and Rockin'
Camel Records would like to thank Bill Wax of
Bluesville,
XM
Sattelite Radio for their support and the listeners for
'No Easy Way Out' being in the # 1 spot on
the Bluesville Chart. Brooks considers it an
honor to be in the company he is in on that chart. "I believe XM
Sattelite Radio is playing a huge role for the independent
artist and is going to be a major factor in the future of the
music industry." - Danny Brooks.
• The recent book
launches at Hugh's Room/Mar.27 and Burloak Christian
Fellowship/Mar.28 were a resounding success and Mako
Funasaka of
www.talkinblues.com came in to film the band at
Hugh's Room. John Donabie of CFRB 1010 Radio
opened the event at Hugh's with an eloquent sharing of how he
and Brooks met under remarkable circumstances, that led to his
writing the forward in the book. The Friday concert at the
BCF was a full house and the band was honored with a
standing ovation.

Brooks just back from a successful in-store at Borders Books
in Keene N.H. and a sold out show at The Vermont Jazz
Centre. Brooks was accompanied by former Mink DeVille
guitarist Lou Erlanger, opening up for Marie Knight
who used to sing with Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Bill
Hurley of
Americana Media interviewed and filmed Danny performing
for their Roots Music Online TV. |

Music City Blues Society – Nashville, TN
- NO EASY WAY OUT- by Don Crow
Danny Brooks has certainly seen his share of the blues. Personal
battles with addictions drove him down, but assuredly not out.
In August of 1987, he dedicated his life to Christ, and has been
on both a spiritual and musical upturn since then. And, with
Rockin' Camel's release of "No Easy Way Out," Danny has
successfully painted a musical self-portrait...read

ChristianWeek Musical Routes - Brooks knows the Blues
- by
D.S. Martin
Unfortunately, it’s not surprising if you don’t know Danny
Brooks. He’s been kicking around little venues, flying under
the radar of the Canadian music business for years. And, as
is so often the case with blues musicians, he’s been getting
better with age.....read

Shades of Blue UK:
CD review by
the primer - Danny Brooks: No Easy Way Out
This is going to sound horribly like a broken record (no pun
intended) but here we go again - another solid slice of southern
R&B from a very fine singer/ songwriter that is yet again in
great danger...read

Cashbox Magazine: Music Editor Mike Peace on 'Ain't
That The Truth': This is what blues music has always
been and is as good as it gets. This single represents and
tributes other great artists of the blues genre such as:
Muddy Waters, Ry Cooder and John Lee Hooker.
Danny is a consummate professional who truly believes the
least he can do for his audience is to give his best. And it
shows! This song could have been played in the Blues Brothers
and felt totally at home in the presence of Ray Charles
and Aretha Franklin. The song has such an infectious
sense of rhythm that there is no way to not tap your foot clap
your hands and jump up and testify, screamin’ “Hallelujah,
I've been healed”. |
