This recording has a full horn line with lush Hammond B3, giving it that Stax/Muscle Shoals sound. All things Southern, with the day to day stories of life and survival, with positive encouragement.

HIS House Records is pleased and grateful to have Richard Bell back again to produce the second of three recordings from Danny's 'Soulsville' trilogy. This particular recording has influences by Taj Mahal, John Lee Hooker, Blind Boys, Solomon Burke, Sam Cooke, Bobby Bland, Otis Redding and Hank Williams.

I discovered that all the great R&B and Soul singers that I admired, were influenced by such Gospel greats as The Soul Stirrers, Blind Boys, Mighty Clouds, and Rev. Jumpin’ Jim Jericho. I also realized, writing Gospel music, (apart from the message which is paramount) is the embodiment of all the musical styles. Blues, R&B, Country, and Rock n' Roll. Put all these together with an impacting soulful message of GOD’s LOVE and HIS desire to see us living happy, healthy, productive and successful lives and you’ve got 'GOOD NEWS GOSPEL'.
